Got Cake?

I was commissioned to make a few birthday cards. I've been wanting to use my Once Upon A Princess cartridge, so this once was quick to make.

Using my Gypsy, this yummy cake was cut at 4" using Once Upon A Princess. The Happy Birthday was cut from Gypsy Wanderings. The background paper is Coredinations, embossed with Swiss Dots Cuttebug folder and used Martha Stewart Punch for the Corners . Added a dab of Stickles for the flower centers and for the frosting.

The colors remind me so much of spring...which I'm SO wanting to show up as soon as possible!

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you are having a fun Saturday. I spent the afternoon feeding and luvin' on Jack and Juli,my new grandtwins! They are so tiny but big on JOY!

Another Mini Book

I am having so much fun making these books. This next one, I had purchased the cover more than a year ago. Its the Theresa Collins design for Bind It All. It was a black chipboard and thought "that would make a cool book" but it sat in the drawer until recently.

I was able to design a page to match the bracket style of this cover. Using my Gypsy and Accent Essentials and George, I create a page that fit perfectly inside this cover.

I used DCWV All Dressed Up stack. I love this stack and have used it for several different projects. Teal and black is one of my favorite color combinations.

Primas, bling and ribbon put the finishing touches on this book!

I hope you enjoyed today's entry. Thanks for stopping by.

Mini Book Challenge

Over at the Cricut Message Board, there is a challenge to make a mini book. I have made a few, but they never looked like the others I've seen. I have a craft fair coming up next month and decided to make a few to sell.

Michael's has been selling chipboard books in various shapes. One I saw was a purse/handbag. I decided to cut my own chipboard pages. Its easier to cut the chipboard and the paper and everything matches up.

For this particular book, I used DCWV Blossoms and Butterflies stack and the Sweet stack. I also used Prima Flowers, bling and butterflies.

This book was lots of fun to make and I've already finished a few more. I will post those pictures in the coming days.

I used Martha Stewart Border punch on several of the pages. Instead of photo mats, I used edged paper for "photo corner" type shapes to insert the photo under, instead of just gluing the photo down.

Used Cuttlebug embossing folder on this page. Petaloo flowers too.

Love the butterfly from Prima on this page!

The tiny butterflies on the handle of this page are actually appliques! I had a length of cotton butterfly appliques. I cut them apart, and used my Copics to color them!

Thanks for stopping by. I love comments, so if you are so inclined, please leave a little message.

Thanks for stopping by....

Welcome Jack and Juli!

I don't usually post my family stuff here, but I am so excited I wanted to share.

My son and daughter are now the proud parents of twins! Jack Shouta and Juli Virginia. They were born Thursday, February 18, 2010. They were born approximately 12:45 in the afternoon. They are both health and BEAUTIFUL! Here are some pictures I took when I visited them at the hospital.

Here is the first photo my son sent me....Juli (on the left) and Jack, only hours old.

Proud Nonnie (that's me!) holding Jack. Look at that hair!

The two grandmoms, holding each of the babies (I'm holding Jack)

Auntie Katie (my daughter) holding Juli and me and Jack.

Jack needed a little warming, so they took off his clothes and blanket and put him under a warming lamp.

Juli asleep in Auntie Katie's arms.
Here are the happy parents. They both were very tired, up for over 24 hours. Tired but very happy!

The nurse was nice enough to offer to take this photo so I could be in it.

I just doubled my grandchildren from 2 to 4! My granddaughters Kayla and Kerri can't wait to meet their cousins!

Thanks for letting me share my exciting news!

Another Valentine

Hi all! Today I'm featuring another Valentine card. This is a fairly simple 5 x 7 card. I used Cuttlebug embossing folders on the front, two different designs, the one side I inked the raised image using Tim Holtz Distressed ink, red, and a brayer. Scalloped hearts cut using Gypsy and Gypsy Wanderings cartridge. Greeting cut using Wild Card Cartridge. Black flourishes and black ribbon finish the card.

Another Friday has come....nearly half of February is already past. Its still winter but every day is a little closer to spring! YEA!

Have a great day. Thanks for stopping by.

Be Mine

Here's another Valentine's card I created, using Valentine themed Cuttlebug embossing folder. This one is the Queen of Hearts, embossed on white cardstock. I used my brayer and red ink to color the embossed image. Greeting was cut using Wild Card Cricut Cartridge, two strips of cardstock, the lower layer was trimmed with EK Success border punch.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Share the Love

This is another card, using elements I've used already. I really like the look of the boy and girl from A Child's Year Cricut cartridge and the candy hearts Cuttlebug embossing folder.

For this 5 x 7 card, I used the candy hearts folder with Core'dinations White Wash paper in pink, so when I sanded the embossed images came out pink with a white background. For a little more flair, I used an EK Success border punch at the bottom of the shape. I cut the boy and girl shape from A Child's Year at 3 1/2 inches from burgandy cardstock, two scalloped hearts cut using Gypsy Wanderings. All shapes layerd on a dark pink background, and a ribbon to finish the look.

This past week started out slow...winter illnesses has gotten in the way of my creativity, but finally started feeling better and back to creating! I can't wait to finish some of these projects and post them for all to see.

Thanks for stopping by...have a great Saturday!

Koala-t hugs,

Cathy
