More Border Punch Cards

As promised, here are a few more cards I made using border punches.  For this card I used the Martha Stewart doily border punch, Cuttlebug embossed daisy border on white paper, inked to highlight the flowers; circles were cut using the Gazelle and a stamped happy birthday verse to finish the card.

I saw this yellow butterfly paper at my local scrapbook store and thought it would make a pretty Mother's Day card, or even a birthday card, so I left the verse area blank.  The borders were cut using the Fiskars Effervescent border punch.  Butterflies were cut using the Cricut and the Winnie the Pooh and Friends cartridge and text marquee cut using Storybook cartridge and the Cricut.

I never thought I would use "page maps" or any pre made layouts, but someone on the Cricut Message board posted the link to Mojo Monday site, with card layouts.  I decided to try one and this is my interpretation of it.  I used Bazzill Black Swiss Dots, Around the Block Blanket Stitch for the teal and print, Martha Stewart Border punch, Circles and scalloped circles cut and "MOM on the Cricut, and Floradoodles flowers.

Thanks for visiting my blog....hope you enjoy today's projects!

Cards and Border Punches

I recently discovered the fun of using border punches.  I had one from a few years ago when I first started scrapbooking, but I didn't "get it".  Then, with all the cards and layouts I've seen with their creators using border punches to adorn them, I decided to give them another try.  Now I'm hooked!  They seem to be one of the more popular tools lately and I'm enjoying them!  Here are a few cards I created using a border punch.

This is a 5 x 7 card, using DCWV Nana's Kids paper, Martha Stewart border punch, ribbon, "marquee" cut 3 times, layers in green and pink, with MOM cut out of the top layer.

Core'dinations Chocolate Box paper really made this card, embossed with the Argyle Cuttlebug folder and sanded to highlight the design.  Pink DCWV adhesive backed cardstock was embossed and trimmed with the Fiskars border punch.  The marquee layers were left blank to make the card ready for any occasion.

Another card made using the Core'dinations Chocolate Box paper, embossed with the Argyle Cuttlebug folder.  Martha Stewart border punch on both sides of pink cardstock.  Scalloped ovals cut using the Gazelle, Happy Mother's Day was cut using the Wild Card cartridge and Cricut Expression.  Brown and pink ribbon complete the look.

One more card, using the Martha Stewart border punch, scalloped circle cut with the Gazelle.

That's all for today...I'll post more cards soon.  Thanks for looking!

Bazzill "In Stitch'z" Cards

During a recent trip to Archivers, I found the In Stitch'z templates from Bazzill.  I was curious about these, so I decided to try a set.  Since I'm a long time seamstress, I wanted to see how I could use these in my paper crafts.  I LOVE THEM!  One of my favorite things to do in making cards is using the white on white theme.  On the first card, I used the In Stitch'z template on white cardstock, and stitched with white embroidery floss (Its always great to use supplies I already had on hand!)  I paired this with white cardstock embossed with D'vine swirls with the Cuttlebug.  The smaller rectangle is embossed with Swiss dots, scalloped circle cut on the Gazelle, smaller layers matted with black card stock.  I added tiny jewels to the stitched flourish to complete the look.  A friend of mine needed an engagement card and I showed this as a sample, so I'll be adding names to the blank circle to personalize the card.

This card was very easy.  Stitched pink floss on green cardstock, used a border embossing folder for the pink  and the butterflies is from DCWV Blossoms and Butterflies mat stack.  Happy Birthday was cut using the Cricut and Wild Cards cartridge.

Not too early to start on Mother's Day cards!  Used In Stitch'z template, black embroidery floss stitched on white cardstock, paired with Cuttlebug embossing folder Textile on white cardstock.  Ovals cut with the Gazelle, pink pearl hearts and Studio G mini stamp for greeting.

I enjoy making cards, and especially enjoy when the person receiving the card enjoys them!

Enjoy the rest of your sunday...its been gray and rainy here.  Sure wish it would warm up!

Easter Bunny!

I Love this sweet little bunny face.  I made these cards for my granddaughters for Easter.  The bunny is a paper piecing from BossKut called a "Peeker" and cut on the Gazelle.  The card on the left was cut on the cricut, using the basket on Doodlecharms and making a card shape with it.  The card on the right is the BossKut bunny "Peeker" cut on the Gazelle, the background paper is Coordinations, the grid lines made with the Score-Pal.

Happy Easter!  Happy Spring!

A Star Is Born

This is another page for my All About Me book.  The photo is when I was 6 months old.  The smaller photo is from the newsletter where my dad worked, where it featured babies born to employees.  I used DCWV Nana's Nursery for the paper, with matching teal solid cardstock.  The Stars were cut using the Wild Card cartridge and the Cricut.  The title was cut using the Gazelle.

Thanks for looking.

Party Girl!

Another layout featuring my granddaughter Kerri.  This was her first big event, my niece's wedding last October.  She's all dressed up in the first picture, but in her PJ's while at the reception.  Mom and Dad thought she was ready for bed and took her up to Grandma's room, but all she did was cry.  She still wanted to party, so they brought her back to the reception and she danced for another hour or two!

In this two page layout, I used paper from the DCWV All Dressed Up stack, border and title were cut using the Gazelle.
